1. What inspired you to enrol at Jackie Cameron School of Food & Wine?

I have always wanted to be a chef and when I asked around for the best cookery school Jackie Cameron School of Food & Wine came up many times.

2. What is your reason for choosing a career in the culinary industry?

My passion for food. I am always in the kitchen.

3. What are you hoping to achieve here?

A diploma in cheffing.

4. Explain what you are prepared to give of yourself.

I am willing to give my all.

5. What is your long-term goal?

It is to open my own restaurant.

6. In how many years do you hope to achieve this?

In two years after completing the course.

7. Are you aware that the pressure you’ll be placed under during the course will help you achieve your goal? Elaborate on your ability to cope with pressure.

Yes, I am aware of the pressure. There will be a lot of long hours and hard work too.

8. Are you aware that the hospitality industry requires you to work on weekends and public holidays while guests ‘play’? Comment on this.

Yes, and I'm willing to work on weekends and public holidays.

10. If food had a personality, what dish would be most like you – and why?

Salad - because it's simple just like me

11. Where were you born and raised?

In Pietermaritzburg.

12. Apart from food what hobbies do you enjoy?

Billiards and fishing..

15. What dish do find least inspiring? Explain the reason.

Anything with pork because I can't eat it.
