The Roadside Cafe: Student Popup takes place on selected Fridays from 3pm, giving our students an opportunity to share some of what they have been learning, practising and creating in the kitchen with our local community.
The Roadside Cafe: Student Popup
The Roadside Cafe is a Student Popup at Jackie Cameron School of Food & Wine, taking place on selected Fridays from 3:00pm.
It gives our students another way to take what they are learning in the kitchen and put it into practice — preparing food that can be shared directly with the people around us.
What you find at The Roadside Cafe changes as our students move through different areas of their training. One week might showcase breads and pastries. Another could bring artisan breads, cakes, biscuits, tarts, desserts, chocolates or something completely different.
They learn it.
They make it.

This Friday, our students will be sharing an assortment of:

Each selection reflects what our students have been working on in the kitchen, combining technique, practice and their own personal touch.
Baking breads and pastries forms part of the practical culinary training at Jackie Cameron School of Food & Wine, where students develop their skills through hands-on experience.

Why the menu changes
The Roadside Cafe is not built around a fixed menu.
What our students prepare changes as their learning changes.
Over time, that could mean artisan breads one Friday, freshly baked pastries another, followed by pavlovas, baked tarts, cheesecakes, sweet and savoury pastries, cakes, biscuits, scones, hot and cold desserts, chocolates and more.
That means every visit to the Student Popup can offer something different — giving you a small taste of what our students are currently learning, practising and creating.
Come early
This is a genuine student popup, not a full-scale bakery.
Our students prepare a set quantity of food for each Friday. Once that week’s selection has sold out, there is no additional stock.
So if something on this week’s menu catches your eye, we recommend arriving early.
