Avontuur Wines, a spring evening and good company
There is something inviting about stepping out of the working week for an evening of taste exploration. Our Sundowners series offers a relaxed setting to explore wine, enjoy thoughtfully paired food and share the experience with fellow food-and-wine enthusiasts.
For this October gathering, we turn our attention to Avontuur and its connection to the Helderberg. The estate describes a landscape shaped by granite, shale and sandstone, with cooling breezes from False Bay influencing the growing conditions. It is a useful starting point for discovering the place behind the wines.
Discover what food brings to the glass
Our students will prepare food tastings to accompany the wines presented. Pairing gives them an opportunity to put their culinary learning into practice while guests explore how flavours and textures work together.
You do not need to be a wine expert to enjoy the evening. Come with curiosity, taste at your own pace and enjoy the conversation. Whether you know Avontuur already or are discovering its wines for the first time, there is room for a fresh perspective.
The specific wines and dishes will be selected for the evening.
