Kgothatso Mathibe's Ginger Honey & Mustard Chicken Wings Recipe

On 31st July Jackie Cameron School of Food & Wine was invited to the 2022 Honey Festival Competitions hosted by the KZN Bee Farmers Association. These were the recipes demonstrated by the students.

Kgothatso Mathibe's Ginger Honey & Mustard Chicken Wings

INGREDIENTS

SERVINGS: 20 WINGS

  • 10 Chicken Wings

  • 300g Honey

  • 100g Wholegrain Mustard

  • 50g Ginger Powder

  • 50ml Balsamic Vinegar

  • Oryx Salt and Pepper


DIRECTIONS

  1. Cut chicken wings into half to make winglets

  2. To make the marinade, combine the honey, mustard, ginger powder and balsamic vinegar.

  3. Season the chicken wings with salt and pepper to your liking and then pour over the marinade.

  4. If time allows leave the chicken to marinade overnight.

  5. After marinating roast at 180°C in a preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
