— Jackie Cameron

What inspired you to enroll at Jackie Cameron School of Food & Wine?

My love and passion for all things foodie.

What are you hoping to achieve there?

I want to increase my knowledge of food and wine and learn all the techniques required to make me a great chef.

Emily Schmidt

What do you hope to give of yourself?

An opportunity to learn from one of our country’s best chefs.

What is your long-term goal?

I would like to indulge my passion for food and to earn a living doing what I love.

In how many years do you hope to achieve this?

Within five years.

Who is your favourite international ‘foodie’?

Jamie Oliver.

If food had a personality, what dish would be most like you – and why?

Crème brûlée… I can seem a little bit hard on the outside but once you crack the surface, you'll find that I'm actually quite soft and sweet.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in Swansea, South Wales and spent until the age of seven in England. We then moved to South Africa where I did most of my growing up. I consider myself South African.

Apart from food what hobbies do you enjoy?

I enjoy horse riding, reading and motor racing.

What dish do find least inspiring – and why?

I struggled with this question because I can not think of a single dish that does not inspire me in one way or another.
